    The Camper 7 Rating

A holistic rating of the entire stay, not just a checklist of amenities.

    ★

    1 Star - Very Good

Very good campsite, worth a stop. A high standard in every area that matters to an experienced traveller.

    ★★

    2 Stars - Excellent

Excellent campsite, worth a detour. Outstanding in most areas, with a clear character of its own.

    ★★★

    3 Stars - Exceptional

Exceptional campsite, worth a special journey. A destination in itself: you plan the trip around it and stay several days, in bad weather.

    Green Distinction

A separate badge awarded solely for proven sustainability, ecological land conservation, resource circularity, and local material usage.

    Maximum Motorhome Length

The exact vehicle clearance (including local access roads and internal navigation) is recorded on every profile as factual data, never scored into star rankings.

    The Camper 7 Academy

    Absolute Independence

Campsites cannot apply, nominate themselves, or pay for a listing. No sponsors or partners influence our results.

    On-The-Ground Stays

Every nomination requires proof of stay (like a receipt) within the last 24 months. Jurors remain anonymous.

    Diverse Experts

A balanced selection of seasoned travellers, outdoor journalists, and enthusiasts, maintaining a 50/50 gender balance.

    10 European Districts

From the Adriatic to Scandinavia, overseen by District Chairs with 40-member voting panels and a 25% annual renewal rate.
